Scams in Belgium are rising fast, arriving via phone calls, SMS, emails and fake payment requests that feel urgent and real. As the public authority responsible for consumer protection, SPF Economie / FOD Economie needed a solution people could apply instantly in everyday life.
We recognised the real issue isn’t just fraud, it’s speed. In a hyper-connected world, we click, confirm and transfer almost automatically. Scammers exploit that reflex.
The answer was simple: take 10 seconds before you act. Ten seconds before validating a payment. Ten seconds before clicking a link. Ten seconds before replying to urgency.
